Title: Best HRT transdermal patches - what are the pros and cons of each type?
Post by: pepperminty on February 16, 2021, 09:16:38 AM
Hi ladies,

what are the pros and cons of each type of patch please in your experience? Do some absorb better? Are the sizes different? Is one adhesive less likely to cause a reaction than the other? What are the best places to stick them?

many thanks

Hi pepperminty,

I've just tried the new FemSeven conti over the last 2 weeks, but they have given me a red ring which still hasn't gone yet, so have stopped using them and will go back to Estradot 50 patches and Utrogestan 100mg daily, which I have been on for a year.

Such a shame, I had really high hopes for them, as they would have been completely transdermal at my old age of 64.. :-\

The Estradot patches were fine for me and didn't leave any red marks, just a bit of the glue remained which came off easily with nail varnish remover.

Am sure other people will let you know their experiences too.

Thank you Julia Dizzy,

It is all a minefield trying to get the right regime! I think the estradot ones are smaller?
