Title: Period or no period, that is the question.
Post by: Tulip73 on January 28, 2021, 08:52:21 PM
Hi folks,

I've been on HRT for about two years now. I'm 47 and peri meno started about 42. When i was first on it, I had a period every month for about six months. Then it got more sporadic, then it stopped for several months, and now I have one some months, but not all. Occasionally I miss a nights HRT and that often triggers a mini bleed. I'm on Oestrogel and Utrogestan. I thought I was meant to have period every month, so when I stopped having them I went to the doctor but she said that was fine, it's not really a real period anyway and not everybody has periods. She is a menopause specialist so she knows what she's talking about but i'm still rather surprised that this is the case. Does anybody else have sporadic periods with HRT?

Thanks

Are you on continuous utro or sequi? I'm on sequi and late meno now. I find I only bleed on roughly 50% of the cycles when my own hormones aren't contributing. I'm not sure if I should be worried about it.

I use Oestrogel every night (2 pumps) and take two Utrogestan tablets forthe last 12 days of the month. Maybe not having a period means i'm moving further through peri meno and approaching menopause?
