Hi,
My pharmacy still can't get hold of FemSeven conti patches even though they were supposedly available last week????
Theramax say are available and pharmacy to order through Alliance - but Alliance haven't got any??? Going round in flippin circles :steamed:
-
Hi
Any update with Femseven conti ??

Hi Warwick, still not managed to get any yet. I have tried Cohen's and Boot's chemists and they both still say they unable to order through Alliance healthcare.
Theramex still say they are available, I got this reply from them today:-
"UK FemSeven (estradiol +/- levonorgestrel) Stock Update
FemSeven Conti® (estradiol/levonorgestrel) available now via Alliance Healthcare January 2021
Theramex holds the marketing authorisation for FemSeven 50, 75 and 100® (estradiol), FemSeven Conti® (estradiol/levonorgestrel) and FemSeven Sequi®
(estradiol/levonorgestrel) in the UK and Europe since acquiring these products from Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd on 1st February 2018.
Non-patient-safety related quality issues were brought to our attention resulting in the gradual withdrawal of the FemSeven® portfolio from the market.
We have since been working diligently to fix these issues and are pleased confirm that the entire FemSeven® portfolio of products will be returning in 2021 commencing
with FemSeven Conti® which is available now from Alliance Healthcare.
We anticipate that the rest of the FemSeven® portfolio will be available by mid-2021 and we will continue keep health care professionals informed of any changes. We
would like to thank both patients and prescribers for their continued patience. Patients who have any questions with regards to their treatment options should
speak to their healthcare professional.
For pharmacists and healthcare professionals who wish to place orders for FemSeven Conti, please contact Alliance Healthcare via your usual channels.
Should your HCP require further information from us regarding your enquiry, I would
suggest that you ask them to contact us directly."
So who the heck do you believe??? Someone is telling porkies. And yes, I have seen they are available to buy online via the Independent pharmacy - but at £38 for one month I'm not obliged to do so!!
-
Hi Belle, yes, you were being helpful of course, at least we now know someone had some somewhere!!
I sent an email yesterday to my local Cohen's chemist head office. They have very kindly rung me this morning and told me they have managed to order some for me (only 2 boxes were available to order apparently). She said she would get them sent to my local chemist and tell them they were for me! So hooray, diligence and pestering has finally paid off!!
I just hope they suit me after all this hassle when I finally get them, as I have never had them before...just that they were suggested at my initial Meno clinic consultation over a year ago but obviously weren't available at the time. xx

Hi
Any ladies successful in getting these patches can you please report back. Also I would be interested to see if the product adhesive has improved.
Thanks Wx

Hi Warwick, I have finally got some FemSeven conti patches today from my pharmacy!! (I was given 3 x packs of 4)
I have just stuck one on as it was my Estradot change day anyway.. I presume I can just do that and start from now? it's a very clear patch and bigger than Estradot! Have stuck it on the side of my hip/thigh. Fingers crossed no skin reactions or anything else after all this waiting time!
Where do other ladies apply their patches for the best?
-
Hi Julia
That's good news. Let us know how you get on as previously Femseven would not stick. I stick patches on my hip bone.

Hi I’ve managed to get them. Unfortunately mine aren’t sticking at all. I’ve had 3 on in 9 days🥴.. I’m just going to persevere. I use an independent pharmacy and they got them for me no problem x
-
Hi, well I'm due to change my first one tomorrow after a week and it has stuck on no problem for me.
The only thing is my skin looks a bit pink around the edges of the patch but it's not painful, so will see how it goes next week when on the other hip.
I prefer the feel of the Estradot patches, these FemSeven are a bit crinkly?? Never satisfied dohhhh!! ???
-
Thanks for the feed back. Will see if any local Pharmacies get order.

Hi Julia dizzy can I ask where u stuck ur patch. I have tried hip and thigh. They just keep falling off. I’ve just bought tegaderm patches and applied a fresh one tonight🤞... I love the fact they’re one a week and contains both oestrogen and progesterone. X
-
Hi Tinacros, I put them on the "love handle" bit of my hips/top of buttocks towards the side/back, just going to try different areas to see how it goes. So far so good they have not come off, but only used 2.
Not heard of your patches, are you not in the UK? My patch is just one a week and combined too, so completely transdermal. I hear some people put tape over theirs to keep them on??
Hope you get on ok.
-
Sorry Julia dizzy I’m on femseven conti too. I bought some clear medical patches (tegaderm ) to keep them in place ☺️ As they kept falling off 🥴
-
Hi Julia Dizzy how you doing with patches sticking??
Wx
-
Hi, they seem to be sticking ok on me, but the red mark the from first one a week last Monday still hasn't gone, even though I have put Arnica cream on it . My skin is also still a bit red under the new patch I put on last Monday, so wonder if I'm sensitive to the adhesive or the ingredients?? I was fine on the Estradot patches which I took before with Utrogestan.
I've also been feeling more hypertensive, warm, jittery and shaky, not myself at all and wondered if it could be them? So fed up if they don't suit, I so wanted them to be the answer!!
How are you doing with them?
-
Hi JD
Sometimes it takes a few weeks to adjust to new HRT. Stick with it a few weeks and things should settle. I recall you used these previously ??
Will be starting them next week. Will report back on how I get on
Wx
-
Hi Warwick, no, I have never used them before.. just that my meno clinic Dr said at my very first consultation in Sept 19 to go on HRT that they would be better once they were back in production, so have been on gel followed by a trial of estradot patches and Utrogestan for over a year now since I saw him.
The red marks have not faded yet either.
Hope you get on ok, let me know?
-
Hi JD
Everyone is different and I know Femseven doesn't suit everyone. At least you know if it doesn't suit you going back to Estrodot may be the answer.

Hi I’m on my second full week of femseven conti (first 2 weeks the patches kept falling off) kept then in Situ with Tegaderm. To be honest I’ve not felt great. I’ve had a constant headache that I can’t get rid of. Bleeding that has been quite clotty, and I know my lining was ok as I had a scan and biopsy in December. The lower back pain has been uncomfortable, and I’ve been having hot flashes☹️ I also feel bloated and the hubby commented on my boobs looking bigger. I really wanted this to be the one. I’ll give it a bit longer but feel yuk!! If I knew more about the long cycles some post meno ladies do, I’d try that xx
-
Hi Tinacros
It's still early days. Give it a few more weeks and things should settle. I was doing long cycle for many years with no problems. However since October been getting break through bleeds. I had hysteroscopy last Saturday
which identified my lining is 7.8 thickness. consultant advised me at 62 to either come off HRT or use contini which I opted for. Due to start conti patch Sunday.
Several years ago I was on Femseven sequi and ok but GP told me to stop as I wasn't having a bleed. Scan shown no problem but changed to Gel with separate 7 day progesterone.
I have had enough of heavv bleeds myself so lets hope I can find the HRT that works for me.

Hi warwick1 hope the femseven works for you. I just couldn’t stand the headache, so I ripped it off in the middle of the night. Going back on Evorel 50 and utrogestan. I don’t think my body likes progesterone 😕
-
I used to use Femseven Conti, it was the only HRT my body liked. Glad to see it's coming back in stock.
