Hello there,
I was just wondering if anyone has noticed a difference? I’m on ESTROGEN ONLY EVOREL patches.
I’m on 100mcg patch and it just doesn’t feel the same as it used to. Maybe not as strong?
Would anyone know if any of the components have altered?
Many thanks

Hi
I'm on Evorel sequi, so have Evorel 50 patches and Evorel conti patches ( combined oestrogen and progesterone). I have been on them nearly two years and hadn't really noticed any difference since they changed to Theramex BUT since Oct I am finding I need to change them every 3 days so maybe there is something different!
Would be interested on others experiences...

I’m so pleased you’ve replied. Thank you.
I used to be on EVOREL patches which I found fantastic but then had a brief detour and started using Estrogel.
Since starting back on the patches I’ve been quite surprised. They just don’t seem to be hitting the spot at all. On a patch change day I would get a real boost in mood and energy. It was unmistakable. I was on a 100mcg patch.
I’ve returned to the 100mcg patch and my reaction to them is just different. No boost in energy or mood. Hot sweats still with me.
They just don’t seem as strong at all.
I wonder if they’ve changed something in them since the HRT shortage? They do feel different.

Hi Joesmum
I agree with you, I used to get a boost on patch change day but now no longer. I wrote to Theramex to ask if anything has been changed and they assured me everything is exactly the same.
I change every 3 days too and that definitely helps x

This is an interesting one! I used to find half an Evorel 50 patch was sufficient, now I need to top up with gel, to the point where I'm wondering whether to just use gel.
I was thinking maybe my system had grown accustomed to the patches but the above suggests it's the patches themselves.

Hmmmm, maybe a mixture of increase tolerance so need more, body producing less oestrogen so need more and many other factors I suspect!
I am late peri so I'm probably still fluctuating quite a bit naturally.

Thank you so much for your replies.
I’m still wondering if there has been a formulation change?
From what I’ve read I can’t find the absolute reason for the HRT shortage in the UK and when I ask my GP or various Pharmacists I get different answers as if they don’t seem to know either..so I’m rather too suspicious these days.
I may put the question out there...
