Title: Too much gel?
Post by: Julia45 on December 24, 2020, 09:28:57 AM
Hi ladies,
I started on 2 pumps of gel 4 months ago. I have been silly and upped too soon to 3.5 pumps (after being on 3 for a while). Can too much make you feel sedated and anxious? Also, eczema has appeared and I’m quite twitchy (eye and side of ear). I reduced back to 2 to see what happens and if things calm down. Anyone else have this?

Too much oestrogen can be as bad as too little. You really need to give it time to work, they suggest 3 months. My anxiety and insomnia took 3 months to go completely.

Thanks for your reply. Do you think I’ve done the right thing to decrease rather than increase to 4?
Have you had the sedated feeling at all? As if you are slightly drugged? X

My experience was that when i increased the gel I would get a bit of morning anxiety but it would settle down after a week or two. I think our bodies take time to adjust.

Can too much gel give you a sedated feeling also?

A sedated feeling is usually caused by progesterone. What are you on and is it sequi or conti?

I have reduced my HRT by half and my anxiety has definitely improved! Sedation I believe is usually the progesterone!

Thanks for your replies. I’m wondering if I’m histamine intolerant as I’ve also got patches of eczema from nowhere and still have fatigue.
I’m not on the progesterone stage at the moment.
I’ve reduced back to 2 pumps to see what  happens....
