Title: Ovestin dosage - moved from Vagifem
Post by: Nairn on December 05, 2020, 11:58:02 AM
Please could anyone advise the correct dosage for Ovestin - just moved from Vagifem as it was not helping, but the label just says use as required.  I was using vagifem daily due to severe dryness & having everything under control for sometime.  Nightmare.

Why did you change - the idea for both is to use every night for 2-3 weeks to plump up the vaginal tissues which stops the dryness which causes itching and pain.  Then use every 3rd and 5/6th night but some need every night.  Have you read the threads about vaginal atrophy and bladder issues.

Hi CLKD

It stopped working for me - just turned into a white mush and did not really solve the problem - been on it for about 5 years, experienced user.  Changed after discussion with meno consultant, not sure ovestin is any better but has to be an improvement on the current situation!

I would use it every night if that is how often you were using the Vagifem.

I'm wondering if manufacturer of Vagifem have changed their fillers?  I noticed the last 2 boxes caused chunks of fillers coming out next day.  Very irritating....

I did wonder that as it used to ‘melt’ away, but no longer does that for me
