Title: Mirena coil and bleeding
Post by: Flan747 on December 01, 2020, 01:34:21 PM
I had the mirena coil fitted 10 weeks ago and had very little spotting at the beginning then nothing! Now for 4 days I have had a bleed! Don’t want to go into too much detail but it’s not bright red blood as it used to be ! Is this normal ?

Yes, any kind of bleeding is normal for the first 6 months. First time I had one (in hindsight, I was peri menopausal at that time), I was spotting brown for ages and ages.
This time, when I was spotting, I increased my Estrogel and the spotting went away right away.

Oh ok that’s good to hear! Hopefully it will settle soon! I do feel my estrogen levels have declined again as some symptoms are on the return but I’m already on 4mg Sandrena so not sure I can increase?
Thanks for the quick response
