Title: The Booker Prize
Post by: CLKD on November 12, 2020, 07:58:15 PM
I've not taken much interest previously although I read a lot.  There's a programme on right now which I'm using as a filler 'cos there's not much on.  I grew up in the 1950s/60s with predominantly white authors but it wasn't in my face.

MayB I don't interpret words as others do but I rarely look to see the nationality of a book's author.

I tend to read more male authors then female.

No idea why.

;D. ........ my problem is that I read a good book but am not able to remember ..........  :-\

I tend to buy according to reviews in the Sat papers and what I see in Postscript and years ago Book People.  I'm not crafty but can source suitable books for relatives who are.

I likes a browse in Waterstones usually ........

A few books in recent years I've started and had to put down, a few months later I've got into it to the end.

I choose a book in a shop for the cover, title and decide if it will appeal.  Never look at the author unless it's a book that I am searching for.

I'm similar CLKD.  The author I'm interested in after I've finished the book. I open a random page and read it. If it's well written I'll buy it regardless of genre. I've just finished a Marian Keyes and now I'm reading David Copperfield by Dickens. I've read all sorts!

I'll read Stephen King before anyone else.  Nationality doesn't matter but I also enjoy books written by British authors.  I did read a bunch of random books during the lockdown, mostly light stories to keep my mood up.
