hi there, I'm 57, been on hrt (kliofem) for approx 4 years, all fine until recently a return of nighttime hot flushes (bed soaked through had to change sheets level) and stress/anxiety back with a vengeance (which was my main meno symptom when I went on hrt in the first place).
GP has changed me to Oestrogel and mirena coil. She said to start on 2 pumps but not sure how long I should leave it as the flushes/madness (frankly) are getting noticeably worse. It's only been a week (patience not my strong point even when i'm not totally stressed... ;) )
Do you notice an extra pump fairly quickly or is it weeks til you can tell?
thanks in advance X

Hi! the body doesn't usually get where it is suddenly and mayB requires a few weeks to acknowledge the take up.
Do U keep a mood/food/symptom diary to chart progress? Browse round. Some find that 2 pumps isn't enough so twice a week do 2.5. Put the product name into the search box on the Forum to see what pops up. Make notes ;-)
:welcomemm:

Flushes usually go within a few days. As they're getting worse if it me I would increase it now. My anxiety and insomnia took 3 months to go, it seems to need a build up of oestrogen.

Interesting that the physical issues are resolved quicker than the stress etc ones. I seem to fairly often feel a lightening of the stress/anxiety symptoms an hour or so after putting on the gel, but assume this is placebo (or me just being totally suggestible ::) )
thanks both X

Nowt wrong with a placebo!
