Title: Viginal atrophy bleeding?
Post by: Lyncola on October 15, 2020, 11:00:36 PM
How do you know if you got Viginal atrophy bleeding?

I had a hysterectomy 2 years and 4 months ago. I’ve had viginal atrophy for 21 months now. Using Ovestin and Vagifem and Yes VM and Olive and Bee.

Sorry if’s this is too much information
When to the toilet last night sore stomach and farted in the toilet but no poo. I noticed on the loo seat a drop of wee that was a light pink colour. There was no blood from my bottom. Plus I’ve have bled a lot from my bottom in the last three months and it does not match that.
When I got up this morning there was two small lines on my underwear. To the left side about midway down.

My doctor is on holidays for the next 11 days (I’ve made a appointment) but I’ll have also booked in with another female doctor on Monday morning.

Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks Lyncola

Morning.  Dryness can cause splitting of the delicate vaginal tissues which will show blood when wiping.  So make sure that you use 'ovestin' on the outer lips several times a day to make them moist and supple which avoids splitting.

I loves a good fart I does  ;)

I had this a few months ago, hysterectomy 12 years ago,so blood on tissue after a wee sent me  into meltdown, I knew it wasn't in my wee as I inserted a bit of tissue into the vagina and sure enough...blood, I had been finding sex uncomfortable, like too tight? So I was put on vagifem,no more bleeding but sex still uncomfortable, maybe like me,you need to up the dose? It's a very low dose of oestrogen with vagifem AND ovestin, try not worry too much ................she says  ;D
Better out than in clkd  ;D

Yep jaypo.  Good job that we don't have visitors  ;D

The vagina is quite long so needs to be kept as moist as possible to avoid tearing high up.  A tampon with lots of moisturiser gently inserted might work.

Hi ladies, thanks for your reply’s,

I love a good fart too  ;D
But I’m lucky if I fart two times a day, I used to be 15 plus. Will ask the bum specialist when I ever get my appointment for my fissure.

I have been using Ovestin or Vagifem most nights the last couple of weeks, only had two days off.
A couple of weeks ago I learned that antihistamines makes vaginal atrophy worst. After I did 4 days of it (antihistamines).

I have never use in my atrophy treatment (over 18 months) one off the moisturising creams you insert. I just use yes VB on the outside. And insert Ovestin and Vagifem. Do they work moisturising creams that you insert? My pain is always on the outside

Hi!  use plenty of 'ovestin' in the outer labia area too.  My symptoms of VA are kept at bay with the 'ovestin' and I use KY Jelly if ever my other parts itch.  It's Trial and Error and can be tiring  :-\

Well saw a doctor on Monday, got a wee test, smear test, blood test and booked in for ultrasound.

Just got the call from the doctor 5 days later. UTI? My first one, the smear was fine but there was blood in the wee. I didn’t even know, never had one before.

So I start on the antibiotics tomorrow morning hopefully no side affects from the penicillin?

Was the urine sample sent to a Lab. for testing?  Blood in the urine is not uncommon and may simply be due to thin tissues because of vaginal atrophy.  ABs will help symptoms but the same effect can be got from taking 'nurofen'/pain relief!

Do ring your Surgery and find out that it was tested in a Lab. and ask for appropriate vaginal atrophy treatment.  Do read the VA threads here so that if your discussion is queried?  R U Down under  :-\

Yes from down under, yes been taking VA treatment for over 18 months now, first 6 months Ovestin, and Vagifem since. At the moment I’m on Vagifem, Ovestin, Vagifem, nothing, then I repeat all over again.

My doctor lets me use what I want, when I want.

And yes my sample was sent to the lab, very small amount of blood found. I’m on antibiotics for 5 days and keep up with my VA treatment. I’m seeing my own doctor on Thursday.
