Title: Estrogel application
Post by: Meg0909 on September 17, 2020, 09:19:55 AM
Hi. I’m starting a very high dose of estrogel (8 pumps a day) and wondering whether to divide this into morning & evening application because it’s a lot to apply all at once. Before you ask why I’m on such a high dose ... according to my menopause specialist I’m a very complex case !!  I’m a ‘lifer’ but after using Evorel patches for 18 years my body has stopped absorbing the oestrogen for some unknown reason (levels are only 135 from 150mcg patches) so I am trying gel to see if it will help with absorption. Has anyone else every experienced this?   :-\.  Meg

Hi
I was on 6/7 pumps of gel and still only reached 272 at its highest! Yes I used to split the dose AM and PM! Now on Sandrena 4 sachets and awaiting blood test to see if absorbing this better! It’s a minefield isn’t it ?

An update which could have something to do with absorption rate .... apparently there have been reports that some ladies have been having problems with Evorel patches since they changed manufacturer.  I started feeling as if I wasn’t getting enough oestrogen earlier in the year then just ‘crashed’ like I wasn’t getting anything at all.  It’s resulted in a dreadful depression and have been trying Estrogel along with Citalopram AD, but still not great.  Am now thinking I would be better on pills, not my first choice but should absorb better. I don’t know about Sandrena, can you let me know if it improves your levels.  Xx
