Title: The pill for osteoporosis?
Post by: Chihuahuachick on July 28, 2020, 08:25:21 AM
I have been asked by the doctor to consider HRT for osteoporosis as my peri started at 44 and now I'm 48.

Am I remembering rightly that the pill is a form of help for osteoporosis?

I would greatly appreciate your advice x

Hi Chihuahuachick. Yes any oestrogen you take at the minimum dose will help prevent osteoporosis.  If you are talking about the contraceptive pill, then it must be the combined type with oestrogen in it so not the mini pill. Is there any particular one you are considering?

Thanks Hurdity. Do you think it will sort this vaginal dryness out if I go on the relevant pill?

X really appreciate the advice x
