Title: Can I cut my Evorel sequi In half?
Post by: LW44 on July 24, 2020, 08:39:30 PM
Hi

I started evorel sequi on Tuesday, so far on the oestrogen only I'm ok, but I'm worried about the conti patch.. I'm progesterone intolerant,  tried elleste duo made me very Ill,  then utrogestron pessarys and tablets same outcome .. from what I ve read the conti contains norethisterone like the elleste.. so I'm wonder shall i cut in half to reduce side effects?  I'm.due to go on holiday when i start it :-( x

That was bad timing. Yes you can cut in in half but it isn't a good long term strategy. You may have insufficient progesterone to protect your lining and you may find the half dose of oestrogen is too little. In your situation I've used oestrogen only for an extra week though it may not work if your own cycle is still fairly regular.

You can cut the patches in half. I was advised to do this by the menopause clinic when I first went on HRT. However you would need to cut both the evorel 50 and the evorel conti to make sure you have the right balance to protect your endometrial lining.
