Title: I thought HRT would make it better
Post by: Hillbilly on July 24, 2020, 04:49:52 PM
Hi all.

I'm really confused because I thought hrt was supposed to make the meno symptoms better.

I'm on 2 pumps of oestrogel morning and evening and utro for 10 days.
I'm still getting mood swings, my sex drive completely disappears for 2 weeks and I'm currently looking at rings on the Internet and the ones I like are making me cry  :-\

Am I doing something wrong?

? rings ? might be?

It may take 3-4 months B4 the body benefits from replacement therapy.  Your lack of sex drive is cyclic, as mine was - no interest or feelings for 2, then in the 10 days prior to a period  :o  then it would disappear during the following week  :-\ so that is within normal limits.

Ah OK. I think I was expecting a miracle  ::)

As for the rings, well, I'm buying it myself so that could be why I'm crying  ;D

Go for something antique, I buy all my jewellery in antique shops.  I haven't bought new for over 6 years.  Blue John, Siam Silver, opals, diamonds ............

? ear rings to match ?  ;)

Little steps.  Some find that keeping a food/symptom/mood diary of use.

How long have you been on it for? Have any of your symptoms gone? What's left? Hot flushes tend to quickly but my anxiety and insomnia took 3 months. You may need to add testosterone for libido but you need to be stable on HRT first.
