Title: Evorel sequi cutting patches in half
Post by: Harebell on July 22, 2020, 08:53:48 PM
Hello
I’m 55. Been on evorel sequi for about a year. (Started out onelleste then femoston).  I decided to cut the patches in half as I felt over loaded with oestrogen somehow. Breasts were swollen and uncomfortable. So I was fine on half patch for quite a few months.
Then I started getting flushes back. So I’ve stuck a full patch on.  Im wondering if the increase in oestrogen from the full patch takes a while to register results but I would still like to reduce it again if I get that awful heavy breast feeling back.
Does anyone know if it actually is an oestrogen overload that would cause this!
Still not too happy with the progestogen element either!

Morning.  Maybe put the product name into the search box here and see what pops up, how others have managed?  Could you do half a patch for a few nights then a full patch to see ...........

Many have problems with progesterone  :-\

Hi Harebell

Could it be your natural cycle showing through? Is the discomfort only apparent at certain times of the month? If you are still peri-menopausal then sometimes if your own cycle kicks in you might either be sensitive to the oestrogen spikes or also the progesterone part as both hormones can affect boobs.

The fact that you started getting flushes suggests your oestrogen levels are dropping again so if the full patch resolves this, then this dose is needed for you - Evorel 50 mcg is only a medium dose.

Hope your discomfort settles soon :)

Thanks for your replies CLKD I will search the product. And Hurdity do you think I’ll still have a natural cycle going at 55?
I think the discomfort was generally all the time which drove me to use half a patch. This has worked great until flushes crept back in. So frustrating as the acne had settled down a bit although my skin seems a bit more oily than it used to be.
I’ll continue with the full patch for now but in the longer term I would like to change the progesterone 💙 Harebell
