Title: Mirena - feeling weird!
Post by: Nik2502 on July 18, 2020, 06:32:30 AM
Hi ladies

I had a Mirena fitted on Thursday after bleeding for nigh on six months. Since yesterday I’ve felt, I can only describe as odd! I feel slightly manic and my skin is crawling.
Has anyone else experienced odd symptoms and will they pass?

Thank you
Nik

Had it removed in A&E yesterday!
Woke up and felt really poorly with terrible cramping. Turns out I’m allergic to something in it.
Back to the drawing board for progesterone  :(

Sorry you’ve had a bad experience Nik2502, sounds like you’ve had a lucky escape. Still not a nice experience to go through though, put your feet up and take it easy x

Thanks - been taking it easy today.
It was horrific. I seriously thought I was giving birth. I’m progesterone intolerant and thought it was that but the consultant reckoned it hadn’t been in long enough. They think I had an allergic reaction - some women have it to the strings apparently.
Just glad it’s out and I feel better x
