Has anyone had success with Mirena after failing to cope with sequential Utrogestan?
-
Is the silence my answer ;D
-
Hi there it didn’t work for me x
-
Shame... I don’t think I:have heard any success stories for mirena for anyone who can’t tolerate progesterone.. what did you do, if you don’t mind me asking?
-
I stuck with it for 6 months but it never got any better so I had it removed. I then had a failed attempt at the mini mirena (jaydess). Next I tried a private progesterone which was much better mood wise but caused other issues. I’m now back on utrogestan vaginally 7 days per month, monitored by regular scans. It’s not perfect but the most I can tolerate. Constantly looking at alternatives though x

I could never get on with the POP in my younger days but am really happy with the Mirena, have no side effects.

Oh good Tinker. That gives me some hope! I can’t even do 7 days of utrogestan. Well I don’t want to :( :( if I can manage the Mirena I think it may be a hysterectomy- might go that way anyway as I have multiple prolapses so I will need surgery at some point.

Hi perinowpost I’m the same with progesterone. I hate utrogestan, tried every other night but changes my personality so much! Are you post meno? I was wondering if I could cope with that. GP just prescribed Evorel Conti to try, to see if it is better transdermal :(
-
Hi Tinacros yes I’m post memo - 56 next month. Utrogestan every other night was offered to me as an option, but just like you I couldn’t tolerate it. Part of the problem are the withdrawal effects as utro leaves the system, contrarily I can’t tolerate it continuously either as it builds up in the system and just becomes too much. It’s a problem isn’t it 😪

3isenough, I've sent you a PM.

Hi perinowpost. I tried evorel conti and had to rip the last one off. I’m going to try 7 days of progesterone. I’m only on evorel 25 now so hopefully 7 days will suffice. I feel I’m doing this blindly as getting hold of a GP to talk it through with us hard at the moment. Weirdly I’ve had such a bad headache ever since I started the patches. Both conti and sequi. I’m fed up with it All😟 have u ever thought of trying tridestra?? Been toying with this myself but I’m not sure 🤔
