Title: POP Pill and HRT
Post by: Millie1 on June 23, 2020, 01:17:21 PM
Hi.  I was wondering is it safe to use the POP Pill (cerelle) with an oestrogen patch. I'm 48 and menopausal.  My GP reckons the mirena coil would be a better option for progesterone and the patch for oestrogen.

Not keen on having the coil as I've heard it's painful to have inserted.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!  Maybe put the product names into the search box on here and see what pops up?  Make notes  ;)

Some ladies find the Mirena really useful.  Put that into the box too ......

The mini pill is not licensed to be used as HRT. Whether this means you can't, or its not safe to do so, I dont know.

If I end up on hrt, that's the route I would wanted too.

Hi there isn't enough progesterone in the mini pill for HRT usage. You would need to have progesterone in the form of Mirena or Utrogestan. You can take the mini pill for contraception uses as well as the Utrogestan . The Mirena would cover both contraception and Hrt. X
