Thought I would just keep you posted, I have had three and a half better days so probably things are improving very slowly and the HRT is beggining to work. Today not so good, spending pennies all day and stinging. Hoping it's just a minor blip. Doctor did say HRT can take up to 6 weeks before I might see any effect. On week 5 now, so crossing everything. Might try the Ovestin internally to help bladder issues. Am I right in thinking Ovestin helps the bladder, ? only using if externally at the moment. Replies appreciated from you lovely ladies.

Tnx for the u update. Do read our vaginal atrophy threads.
VA mimics urine infection-type symptoms really really well. I use 'ovestin' internally to plump up the vaginal walls which stops drying = itchiness. The idea is to insert into the vagina every night for 2 weeks ........ and can be used externally.
Ladies use either 'ovestin' or 'vagifem' as a rule and there was another medication mentioned earlier in the week.

Thanks CLKD for responding. Will try the Ovestin internally tonight to see if it helps. Don't like my underwear touching that area so it's good that I don't have to work. At least I can sleep. Yes have read all the threads, which are absolutely brilliant and very infomative. Will have another read as I learn alot from them. Thanks again.

When I tell DH that I've got the wrong knickers on, you can imagine his response ::)
4 me it was like razor blades :o up there ...... so the treatment really eases all that. If symptoms being to niggle it's around my belly button with a feeling of fullness. That's when I go back to 4 nights of treatment ...... then back to my routine.
Make sure that you use it for the next 2 weeks ;-)

Think I will have to get some bigger knickers. ;) Mines like scouring pads on the outside . All my problems seem to be externally with the burning and stinging, but will certainly try internally. Would love to be able to sit properly. Going to play the keyboard on Wednesday at a Residential home in the garden so went out to buy a dress. Hoping for a better day tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Thanks again.

Could you buy a round blow-up tube to sit on, they may have one in the home if you asked? Means that the sore area rests in the 'O' if you imagine a Polo-mint ;-).
Hopefully the weather is fine, forecast is for hot++ on Wed. :o :sweatdrop:

Thanks again for responding. Yes, do have a blow up ring, so could take that. Fortunately, the activities coordinator my cousin knows what I am suffering. Just learnt that her mum, my Aunt suffered with Atrophy for years. It was never talked about then. Realise now why she never wanted to sit for long when she came to visit. Take care.

Thanks Avalon for responding. Definitely going to try some Ovestin internally tonight. My bladder like yours, feels as though it doesn't empty properly. Plus, I know I need to drink more as I have three kidneys.
-
Oh! 3 complete kidneys or 2 and a small one attached?
How did the playing go? Not too warm I hope! Get the 'ovestin' started ?
-
Thanks CKLD for asking. The playing went very well and it was so lovely seeing the residents. Hope to go again this week. I have managed to buy some pretty trousers, elasticated waist and very baggy round the crutch area. Didn't even wear underwear. ::) first time in 62 years. Think HRT and Ovestin are beginning to take effect. Could still do with a good moisturiser for when I spend a penny but Hydromol burns as does diprobase. Unfortunately, woken a little stingy and burny today, hope it is short lived as I have had several good days. Fingers crossed. Thanks again.

MayB use two applications this evening? Have you looked at the 'yes' and 'sylc' websites, you may be able to get freebies ;-)

Thanks ordered a free sample of sylk to try. Thank you for that suggestion. Thought I was doing very well and the HRT and Ovestin were beginning to work, which I think they are. Had several good days, but today have burnt on and off all day. So annoying, just want to get back to some normality. It does take over ones life. Great support in this group for which I am grateful for.
