Hello,
Is it normal to be disgusted by your body? My breasts seem to have dropped, my belly is constantly swollen and I have sooooo many spots on my face... I have never suffered with spots before.
I am hoping I will get used to it and stop feeling sorry for myself
Xx
-
You are allowed to feel sorry for yourself on here.
:foryou: did you not have spots during your teens, I did. Blackheads >:(
Now I get a dark hair in the face which itches+ scratching = a large blister :( : Savlon helps
Get yourself measured correctly for a 'bra if you wear one. 85% of ladies are wearing the incorrect size :o
Does your belly feel hard or has your apron dropped?
-
Hi, I think you do eventually accept it,as women,we are brainwashed into thinking we should look a certain way to be accepted,it infuriates me. I've NEVER liked my body but when I look back at old photos, I think, hey, you weren't half bad,too late now but like you,the boobs have lost muscle tone, the belly hangs,my butt will be dragging along the floor soon but, I have a very privileged life,a husband who loves me and if my body is the only thing I have to worry about then I'm grateful.
Try and embrace it my lovely,we?re all in the same boat xx
-
When I look at 'photos from the 1950s/60s I think "Well Dad loved me enough to take plenty of snaps". When I had surgery in a Hospital where I worked everyone asked "How can you bare to think of people looking at you?" and my reply - "They won't see a better body all year than mine!" and as I was gowned with a silly hat ........ and my Drs weren't doing that surgery anyway ;-)
-
Ok I will keep feeling sorry for myself then lol
I was so lucky growing up with my skin... maybe the odd spot but not like this.
I have always had big boobs but since my hysterectomy they are just so saggy and its uncomfy not to have them.in a bra. I have always struggled with my weight and since turning 30 (6 years ago) I have struggled more but nothing like this on my belly.... it's like I'm constantly due on.
I looked in the mirror the other day and was like who the heck is that minger lol.
Hopefully it wont take me to long to get used to it.
-
Don't look? I rarely do. Nor do I weight myself, don't have time ;)
If you feel well overall, then maybe do a 'gok' on your wardrobe? Wear something bright so that the eye is drawn away from the overall shape, or a nice necklace or ear-rings ........ I spoke 2 a woman of a large size recently who had a different coloured pair of glasses for every day, matched with a scarf and even though she showed me how to tie it: from a distance : I still have no idea ::)
I wear a bright top over denim or pastel colours over bright jeans, depending on how confident I feel :-\
-
I never weigh myself... I dont need that kind of negativity in my life lol.
Aw see I have took to wearing all black... but the bright colours may work... I just dont feel like buying new clothes yet as I know I will be a size up now.
Surely there is a way to keep the weight off through all these changes? X
-
I took up running and now I'm addicted,it also helps with all things mental, even though you?re overweight you can still run, just start off slowly, brisk walks etc
-
Yeah I tried running but I didnt really enjoy it.... I walk a lot which I enjoy. But that's not going to keep my weight down. Maybe i should weigh myself as that might give me what i need to do something about it.
My appetite is so up and down though. One day i will stuff my face and others i will barely eat.
-
Yeah suppose it's not to everyone's taste,it's finding something that suits, although brisk walking is a great form of exercise,it's being healthy that counts, not body shape, keep posting :)
-
Running spoils a good walk
Could you bulk cook and store in the freezer? That way you won't grab 'rubbish' when you are too tired to cook?
I love black. When I was about 11 I had a black polo neck jumper which I loved, Grandma wasn't keen but with yellow slacks I looked really good ;)
-
If I'm honest I never eat meals unless it's a take away lol. I've always been a picker and it's done me ok until now!!!
I am going to brave the wardrobe clear out at some point... I'm prob far too old for the clothes I have any way.... must remember ivan 36 not 16 haha
-
Take aways are ok as a treat but only once a week maybe,as for the clothes? Wear whatever makes you feel good, don't worry about what OTHER people think, anyway you?re a baby compared to us lot ;D
Well, I say run clkd, more ....I need a wee, have to get home quickly kinda run ;D
-
That's where the 'sheewee' comes in ? 2 many nettles to bob over at this time of year ;D
I don't cook :-\ ....... I could if I had to. But I married a chemist, well apparently cooking's pretty much the same ?
Perhaps add more veg to your take away meals. We have a 'what are you cooking tonight' thread ........ if you buy pies for example, cook it and keep half for tomorrow, add veg even if it's from a tin. Right now there's lots of fresh fruit and veg in the stores and markets are opening again.
-
;D ;D. I'm more of a walker myself, did try running but nearly killed me!! I second what other have said dropped boobs, swollen belly & dragging butt!! Not a good look. x
-
The boob thing is awful ain't it... does it mean hormones made them full? I dont get why they have gone like this.
Lol omg yeah the needing to wee is crazy, I wee a lot any way but I have noticed recently that I cant move with out needing to pee.
I only get takeaway maybe once or twice a month... but will eat a share size bag of choc for my breakfast ops....and until the menopause it never really went on my belly.... my bum is on the big side always has been but never struggled with belly til now so upsets me
O was hoping to start dating after lockdown but think I need get used to all these changes first
-
Phwaawr,we?re a sexy bunch I'd say ;D
The boob thing is a drop in oestrogen,I'd never huge boobs but even my dinky size ones now replicate spaniels ears ;D
-
Hahaha Spaniel ears.
I am a 32 E!!! So they are pretty big but now they just go under my armpits so unsexy and I'm pretty sure my nippels are going to explode lol I even googled if they could ahhahaha
-
Aaaahahahaha exploding nipples, dare you to go ask your dr about that one ;D ;D
-
I have spaniel ears - that's when there is an itch deep down that I can't reach :-\.
Things I have eaten for breakfast: cold beans on buttered toast; cold cockles drained of the vinegar on hot buttered toast; Dundee cake; cereal with cream; cold rice pudding from the tin ...........
-
Yep,wish I'd mine back too but as they say, youth is wasted on the young and I guess we just didn't know what we had until it was too late >:(
-
I think the male population may be halved if that were the case ;D
-
Phwaawr,we?re a sexy bunch I'd say ;D

Furry? ;)
-
I do get where you?re coming from. I went through a phase of thinking how young and fit I used to be. I never weigh myself. I can't run due to a dodgy knee from years of dancing but, if you like walking, you can lose weight and tone up by power walking - striding our a bit faster, swinging your arms, put some music on that you really love. it's good to get in the fresh air too. 😊
-
Sheila don't joke,I've a hair on each one ;D ;D ;D
-
Ease off the testosterone??
-
Don't take any :o maybe I'm just naturally masculine ;D
-
Hi,I feel exactly the same My body shape has completely changed over the last 6 months. Lockdown has played its part but its more than that.Ive turned into a middle aged woman overnight and I dont like what I see in the mirror. Grey roots, wrinkles and clothes and underwear that are no longer comfortable.Oh the joys.x
-
Evening Vixter - get rid of the thong! Big Girl Pants are 'in' ;D
I think I'm OK until I see that old woman staring back from shop windows >:( - ? U know the 1 ?
-
How do I unsee things? Every time I see a post from jaypo now I have an image of furry spaniel ears on her chest... 8)
-
Phwaaar bet your jealous sheila ;D
-
 .........
-
Omg my boobs!!!!! They are really upsetting me I cant even look at them. Is it a hormoanal thing that they have gone like this?
I really hope I start getting used to these changes.
Also I change my patch on Tuesdays and Saturdays and I noticed on a Sunday morning my symptoms and mood are always worse than any other day? Could it be from changing the patch?
-
Don't forget that when we look down at our body, it's a different view point than from side or straight onwards ;-)
-
Time to treat yourself to some really gorgeous undies, Lisa JT? Can look fab :-* & might make you feel a whole lot better. I've amassed a vast selection now :o in late 50's & love buying new sets. Not being able to get out to buy any more in lockdown has given me withdrawal symptoms ;D. Probably own more bras, knix & camis now than the total I've had in my entire life! Maybe try some new styles to see what suits your changing shape? You might surprise yourself. Lots of lovely ones out there - no need to go for the Norah Batty thermal bloomers CLKD wears ;)
-
Hello ladies.
My bingo wings appeared one day when I was washing my hair in the shower and about a year later my bottom deflated and I wondered where the fat had gone. Mystery was solved when it all appeared on my belly.
I have really noticed my greying hair since Lockdown plus my once dark eyebrows are becoming paler.
My eyesight is increasingly dodgy and I have a cataract in one eye so everything looks misty and out of focus. Which is handy for looking in mirrors.
Lisa JT - your moods could well be related to changing your patch. Hopefully one of the ladies on the same regime will be along to advise you. If not perhaps start another thread on the subject. For my boobs I find wearing a sports bra does wonders and French knickers are gorgeous.
Take care ladies.
K.

I wish I could wear nice lacy knickers,I have a drawer full of them but I hate my belly, it just kinda hangs there all covered in stretch marks (big baby 9lb 4oz 🙀) so if I'm wearing a dress I need control knickers, not the most sexy of things :'(
-
Thermal bloomers freshly laundered and put into the drawers ;D. I HATE skimpies too :-\ .......... comfy for me ;-). Don't wear bras anymore, even though I love matching sets.
Lace itches jaypo - had you forgotten :D
-
Haha, yes and creeping between me butt cheeks ;D
-
That's the crabs not the knickers ;D
-
No sheila, shaved my boobs, the hair got in them ;D ;D
-
Lol!
-
You have such a lovely image of me now don't you? ;D
-
I'm sure the image will fade in time :o. But with a sense of humour like yours it doesn't matter what you look like :)
-
Just read that back and realise it could be taken as an insult. It was meant to be a compliment.
-
My apron dropped years ago so when sitting down I look fat around the belly ::) but when laying down or standing, I'm kind of OK ;). Until I see that old woman staring back at me from a shop window, thank goodness for lockdown - every cloud :whist:
-
How very dare you sheila I'll have you know I'm stunning with my flappy hairy boobs, dangley belly and itchy undercarriage ;D ;D
Oh yes clkd when I'm lying down I've a brilliant figure
-
That's the answer - I was born to have Staff ;D but thus far have found a Chef who also wields the hoovers-thingy occasionally :-*
