Hi all
I'm new to this. In perimenopause- diagnosed earlier this year and started hrt.
Has anyone else had mouth issues- specifically recurring mouth ulcers and excess salivia- so much so that talking can be messy 😩
Might be related to hormones/ medication/ or none of the above.....
curious to know if anyone had the same and any tips to managing it.
Thanks so much 😊

Hi! Do you get indigestion at all? At night when I get reflux I have excess salvia which burns as it returns up the gullet.
Also as oestrogen levels drop so muscles may Become lax which my Dentist tells me can cause dribbling at night: yep. I sleep with a wedge of 'kleenex' under my lips - romantic ? probably not ::)
Ulcers are a sign of the body feeling low or unwell. Maybe have a full blood count to see if you are missing anything, i.e. low on iron. Get VitD levels checked too.
Bonjela is good for mouth ulcers applied regularly.

Hello Katd43 and welcome to the forum.
Hopefully ladies who have had similar problems will be along to advise you. If not perhaps an appointment with your GP to make sure nothing else is going on and to get the appropriate treatment.
Take care and keep us updated.

Hi Katd43,
Yes, I also have excessive salvia, feels like a flooding and appears out of the blue and have trouble speaking when this happens, kind of embarrissing. On certain days of the months I have little red spots on my tongue and inside my mouth, they burn and are sensitive when I speak of eat.
Both discomforts started when I went from birth control pill to HRT. I still have a cycle and keep a symptoms diary; flooding and red, sensitive spots occur when my estrogen is low or drops. So for me it is definitly hormones.
