Title: Increase estrogel?
Post by: Polpringle on April 13, 2020, 10:06:32 AM
I've been on 2 pumps of Estrogel which has been amazing for my symptoms, however I've now started the Utrogestan and my mood has dropped should I increase the estro to 3 or 4 or just leave it?
Many thanks 😊

Thank you

I've been on it 7 weeks. My specialist advised me to be on a 3 month regime because I have fibromyalgia and react a lot to hormones but that feels to long so I'm going to go onto a monthly regime and see how it goes

Hi Polpringle

Unfortunately that can be one of the side effects of Utrogestan. Some women find taking it vaginally (same dose) reduces the symptoms compared with oral use. Other women have found like you are suggesting that a slight increase in oestrogen can somehow blot out the depressing effects of the progesterone on that part of the cycle. I find sometimes it gives me a hit straight away and then I get accustomed to the tiredness foggy head etc while I complete the  course.

It's up to you really. You could try increasing by half a pump maybe? It depends how well you can cope?

I hope your mood lifts soon :)
