Hi gals,
Can you help me,
So some weeks ago while having my smear(came back normal)the nurse spotted a 2cm polyp on my cervix.
I had had 1 episode of a fresh bleed after sex one time about 2 months ago, but no pain. The Dr referred me for a removal a couple of weeks ago over the phone bcz of covid so no examination.
Anyway fast forward to today and hospital Gynae called asking for more deets and said I'm "low risk" and all being well they will call me in to remove it in 3 months. Then just before hanging up she dropped in...."Oh and don't have any intercourse until the appointment in 3 months!!!" I said hang on that's a bit tricky when your married. Not to mention my testogel is running on all cylinders finally so I have no interest in the cease and desist she was suggesting. If she floated that idea 8 months ago i'd have been all over it. I asked her why i shouldn't have intercourse and she wasn't very clear at all. So I found myself bartering with her and negotiated an..."ok but let us know if there's anymore bleeding"
Is this normal when one has a polyp? If yes, then what is the reasoning behind refraining?
3 month is the shortest turn around time to have it removed as she mentioned it could be longer based on the covid situ after that period. So really the lead time is more like infinity and beyond.
Any help would be grand.
Thanks
TD

My polyp shrunk at peri. It bled on contact. Never at any time in between. My Gyane wanted to remove it but I didn't feel well enough for surgery due to depression.
I would carry on ;) although there are other ways :vibe: of satisfaction. Perhaps consider being more inventive? A phone call to your GP to ask why you would need to refrain?
