Title: 2nd home owners
Post by: CLKD on March 29, 2020, 09:39:22 AM
I could write a book about 2nd homes.  Who sold the 2nd homes because the locals didn't want to buy them to renovate or do them up?  Or bought them, renovated then sold to incomers?  Who puts money into the local amenities etc. when we visit sometimes for weeks at a time? Some even buy-to-let then on their own retirment, move into the homes they have put money into.

I wouldn't have found out half the beauty in the UK had it not been for 2nd home owners renting out properties.

'Come home to a real fire.  Buy a cottage in Wales'.  I was there.  Watching it all happening.  Derelict properties that the locals didn't want/need.

I lived in a line of cottages with English, Welsh, Dutch and Cornish and we all got on.  Really well.  We exchanged news, swopped fruits/veg., helped each other with hospital visits etc..  Never a X word ;-)

Then the Government sold off Council houses  >:(

Such an old thread...
...but your experience resonates with me so much... I’ve faced similar issues a while ago, but I couldn't handle them by myself, so I reached out to specialists from https://www.thepropertybuyingcompany.co.uk/part-exchange-house for advice on managing properties. They explained how to navigate these challenges while contributing positively to the local area. I'm sure they could help u.
