Hi Pink68,
One of my first premenopausal symptom, as well as virginal atrophy.
I've read that if you had back problems in the past they will get worse with menopause. I also get upper back pain, rib pain, chest pain, and any other part of the body you can think of.
I've been to the doctor, had X-rays, blood test, MRI, and seen a rheumatologist.
The best thing you can do is Pilates, as my doctor says, strong core, strong back. I went to Pilates classes once a week for 6 months. Took note of whenever we did core exercises. For the last 6 years I get out of bed and do 15 minutes of Pilates everyday. I definitely feel the difference. And my abs look amazing too.

Hi
I haven't posted on here for a long while but Since just before Xmas my symptoms took a turn for the worse. I'm 51 and like you have been irregular but haven't had a period since early January it lasted 12 days and was the 2nd one within like 10 days then nothing since. During that time I had a bad UTI and then cystitis and along with that came back pain anyway that all cleared up but I'm left with this lower back pain that is much worse in the Morn but I can feel it most of the day on and off I have all the classic symptoms basically I can feel my hormones most of the time Making me feel generally crap but your post struck a chord as I have missed two periods and have this back pain. I'm too frightened to go to the doctors. It took ages to get rid of the cystitis and my bladder still doesn't feel right I'm wondering if this is the cause of the Back pain. Does yours feel muscular? I can't describe mine other than a dull ache. Sorry to not give you an answer. It started with my pelvis aching Aswell but that's subsided.. all I know is that everything has been 10 times worse since I missed these two periods 🤔

Thanks mumalmighty and lyncola . For me the pain is a stiffness first thing in the morning, general ache through the day. Sometime my hips ache when I get up from sitting. I definitely feel back pain is a lot worse since periods have went months in between. I also have a bit of soreness down below off and on. Can't wait till all this is over !! X
