Hello everyone,
I've recently had problems with dryness down below and have had a right carry on because I found it very difficult to apply creams etc. into the vagina. This has always been an issue for me .... especially during intimate examinations with a doctor.
Anyway....the problem seems to be because for years I have always exercised my pelvic floor muscles thinking I was doing a good thing...when in fact I probably wasn't!
If I clench my pelvic floor I'm locked up like Fort Knox! :-\
I have found a YouTube thingy by a lady called Michelle Kenway (Pelvic Floor Relaxation) who explains how to relax these muscles .....if anyone else is interested, she is very good at explaining things and helping you to relax.

When I was experiencing this type of pain I went to w women's physio. She was really helpful.
I can relax mine but hold it too tight all the time. Because of anxiety. She also told me not to do pelvic floor exercises but to consciously relax each time you think about it.
Let us know how you get on with the you tube video.

Thanks for the video recommend - very helpful!

Now that you've found the problem I hope you've been referred to a pelvic floor physio/specialist for a proper assessment. You can then be given a tailored exercise programme. Hope it helps.

Hi Taz2,
I'm just finding these things on the internet....I really doubt there will be anyone attached to my GP surgery....I would hesitate to mention a pelvic floor specialist to anyone there.....they'd probably refer me to B&Q.
:)

I'm one of those who doesn't need to do PF exercises I see a women's health physio, an overtight PF can cause as many problems as a ?loose? one & that includes leakage.

I think B&Q have discontinued their Pelvic Floor Dysfunction kit! ;D Seriously though it is your right to be referred to a specialist clinic which will be based at (hopefully) a local hospital to you. I really do think that if you are experiencing over-tightening then you will benefit from such advice.

put a google search for Women's Physios in your area, read the reviews and make contact with a couple. I found a very good one that way. It is a private service but was worth it to put my mind at rest.

Since I had mirena fitted 5 weeks ago I've had bad pelvic and leg pain and if seems to be worsened by doing my kegals. So I've had to stop them.
So thanks for that link K.Morris. it might help me to try relaxation instead.
