Testosterone is not prescribed to help VA although there is a newer product Intrarosa which contains DHEA and the mechanism of action might be partial conversion to tesosterone or oestrogen or both. This has to be used daily to be effective.

The only indication for testosterone to be prescribed off-licence is low libido/sexual response but it can help with muscle tone/pain, low mood and fatigue because low T can induce lethargy - so some gynaes prescribe for this purpose. Not sure about anxiety?
