Hi so I finally had a sub total hysterectomy everything out apart from Cervix on 14/1. Recovery has been great Surgeon put me on Tibolone right away as I had been taking Femeston conti.
Happy days apart from when I went to pick up new prescription which was for on 28 tablets. Called Docs to ask why not 3 months worth and was told that is the new policy in our area- North Lancs. I know my friend gets 3 month from them.
What a faff every 28 days, is this normal?

28 days isn't long at all. I get 2 months worth of my regular medication at one time but not 3 months. I did manage to get 3 months of my HRT last time as an exception because of the supply problems. I don't have to pay for prescriptions so it doesn't increase cost but is still inconvenient.

Our practice will only allow two months worth but in reality as i use Vagifem daily and 3 pumps of Estrogel it only lasts six weeks. I have a prepayment but it is a nuisance keep having to collect prescriptions as they don't all run out together. At the surgery my mother is at they will only issue a month's supply whatever medication you are on.

I think the government brought in this policy a while ago to prevent stockpiling of medicines.

I'm only allowed a month at a time. I'm glad the hysterectomy went well. Did you want to change HRT? I take it you are still using a progesterone-containing one as you've kept your cervix? Don't know much about that as I wasn't able to keep mine so only use oestrogen.

Hi no my surgeon said I only need Tibolone as I have no womb. Is that ok I just presumed it is?
As for the monthly prescriptions for HRT most of us are on it long term so why not give us a few months worth, saves on admin ect or do they want to put us off taking it hmmmmm and they want our cash each month.
