Just saying hi! I'm 55 and live with my DH, DD (14 going on 26), DS (13), 1 dog and 2 cats in East Anglia. I am still not at the end of my very long peri journey, but thankfully, and believe me, i know how very fortunate i have been, i haven't had too many problems.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

I have recently startd to get, only what i would describe as low level anxiety when i wake up. I'm not sure if it is hormonal or slightly low blood sugar. It soon goes, but i have been noting it in my diary, just to see if i can make a connection.

Hi Barnacle.
Glad youve found us, :welcomemm:
Just wanted to welcome you.

I have had that for years. It can be caused by cortisol [ the waking hormone] surges or not having eaten enough during the previous few days
The Change won't help !

Hi Barnacle, I'm new to this forum too but finding it really helpful. I also wake up with instant anxiety, so I do a couple of minutes of deep breathing exercises( whilst still lying down!) and it does seem to calm me down!

Welcome barnacle & feather. I hope you find it as beneficial & the ladies as supportive as I've found it. x

Hi Feather.

Hi Jilly, Foxy and Feather!
I also wake up with instant anxiety, so I do a couple of minutes of deep breathing exercises( whilst still lying down!) and it does seem to calm me down!
I might try setting my alarm for 15 minutes earlier and try that. My children have to be at the bus stop at 7.45, so it all gets a bit frantic first thing,

Make sure that it's a gentle alarm or you will wake shocked :o ::)

I need a shock CLKD, and i could probably do with a cattle prod up me bum. I certainly don't do mornings very well, especially when it involves dispersing of dead shrews first thing. My little lady cat is being a devil at the moment.

Hi Barnacle and Feather.
I wondered if you've tried agnus castus?
It has a balancing effect on your hormones. It's good for mood swings, anxiety and tension.
Just a thought. X

Thanks Jari, I?ll give Angus Castrus a go!
-
Hi Jari, I used agnus castus when i was in my 30's because i used to get quite bad breast pain just before my period, and it certainly made a difference then. I will certainly have a think about that, thank you!
-
That's interesting Barnacle. Do keep posted if you try it for anxiety and if you notice that it helps! X

Hi Birdy!. It's always nice to meet another crazy cat lady :) We were a 3 cat household up until last year when we lost our old girl. She was nearly 19 and i still miss her like mad every day.

Hello Feather and Barnacle!
Another fellow East Anglian here :) Sorry to hear you've lost a puddy recently, they are special little beings and I adore my two
