Title: Vagifem vs Estring dose
Post by: Bobidy on February 02, 2020, 04:52:31 PM
Hi

Just a quick question, does the estring provide a higher dose of oestrogen than Vagifem?

I'm assuming that it does if Vagifem is only used twice per week and it is a more consistent dose?

Also wondering if there are any side effects of leaving the silicon / oestrogen ring internally for 3 months at a time?

Thanks as always x

I've been considering trying the Estring, as I've not liked Vagifem.  I believe the string provides about 7 micrograms of estradiol daily.  Vagifem provides 10 micrograms per tablet.

The estring is equivalent to almost 5 vagifem a week.

It releases 7.5mcg per 24 hours = which is just over 5 vagifem per week.

Both are estradiol.

Hmmm interesting thank you.

I don't really like the thoughts of having a plastic ring internally or think I'll be able to insert / remove it myself but I'm going to give it a go and see how I get on with it.

Thanks again x
