My hubby bought me a light lamp for my birthday yesterday. Used it today for ten minutes first and then for twenty minutes later. I was wired and felt quite hypo. Not sure I liked it but at least I had the energy to do the housework. :-*

Wow, are they that good?
Maybe I should get one too....🤔
Happy birthday for yesterday...... :hbday: :cake:

Happy birthday 🥳
I've heard good things about those light lamps
-
Oh was there any cake :cake: left >hands plate over<
Do you mean a SAD-lamp ? I got one for a tenner from a charity shop, sold it for 50 squidders. The idea is to sit with it in the room as close as you like to lift mood.

Yes a sad lamp but it looks like a tablet. Had two ten minute sessions today but didn't help. :-\

Think it takes a while for it to work baby, don't give up
-
? was there cake ? ;)
It does depend on how close 1 needs to sit to the light source. Are there instructions?

Hi Baby, happy birthday, it was mine on the 26th also. Son bought me Gin, husband Prosecco and chocolates, seeing a pattern here.
Don't have a light lamp, but do you think Gin and vitamin D will have the same effect🍸🍾🌞🤣?. Might try it later.
Hope you had a great day and the lamp works out for you.
Keep us posted on results, Mother's Day coming up, might drop some hints. Actually have enough Gin to sink a battle ship.

I just usually drink out of the bottle ;D ;D

What :o no straw
How often does 1 need to sit by a lamp to benefit? A friend had a large one which she would read beside in the evenings.

I've got a SAD lamp (like a briefcase that lights up). It is great for the 30 minutes you have it on - you think 'yeahhh the summer is here woopie' - then it clocks too and it seems sooo very dark - darker than before it even went on and I am immersed in the gloom again.
I am on a painting spree to try and light up our gloomy pile - warm cappuccino in the bedroom, mushroom in the bathroom, imperial gold on the ceilings. I am finding the painting very relaxing and it is really nice to have a change in surroundings. Just need to change my DH for Brad Pitt and I will be a new woman.... (Or maybe Nigel Slater - I have just discovered him on the Food Channel. I always thought he was just into niche veg I can never get hold of, but I just love the food he cooks - so simple and fresh and tasty. I find him quite cathartic to watch/listen too too, he is a cross between Piglet and Winnie the Pooh).
-
;D - I love Nigel's kitchen, he's obviously done well out of his TV programmes.
Blue ceilings might work too. Which way do your bedrooms face? Mine at Mum's property faces East so it was painted blue wood work and buttercup walls to reflect the early morning sunshine.

I had a lamp for SAD some years ago, and used it daily for a couple of months but found it made no difference to me. However, I have heard good reports about them from some people. In addition to a SAD Lamp additional vitamin supplements taken during the winter months may also help. I guess it is down to individual choice and the results you get from using such a lamp. I take additional vitamin and mineral supplements in winter and this works well for me. Anyone considering a SAD lamp, my advice is to purchase one that is not too expensive and try it.
