Hi. Thankfully after 8 years of hot sweats waking me all night about a year ago they came to an end! Marvellous!!
However I'm still waking every couple of hours because I'm hot and clammy and have to throw off the quilt but they're not menopausal hot sweats I'm having I'm just hot and my bedroom isn't as a minute later I'm cold and snuggling back under the quilt. Have others experienced this and does it ever end? x

Yes the same thing as me wake up with a sweat but not half as bad as it was.

Thanks for replying. I'm not sweating just hot which is so much better but wonder how long it'll go on for and when will I get a proper night's sleep? I've heard much older ladies say that the sweats have never stopped which is scary! x

Hi,I'm the same but think like you,it's more HOT than the awful sweats but as we know these things fluctuate so I'm not holding my breath, been about 6 years for me,fan goes everywhere with me ;D

Hi choc57
The hot feeling you describe is how I felt before my hot sweats kicked in properly at the start of menopause, and also how I feel when I've tried to reduce the dose of HRT - so it sounds like your body is acclimatising to being without oestrogen (if you are not on HRT). You may well stay like this (the hot episodes) but on the other hand you might go back to "normal" without the temperature problem.
I have been on HRT more or less continuously for 12 + years so I don't now experience any of this. However - I do dread stopping which I probably will at some point!
Glad your hot sweats have stopped anyway - they are really unbearable!
Hurdity x

Thanks everyone. Oh why can't life just go back to normal! I walked into a very cold garage the other day without a coat on and it was freezing. Within minutes I was hot! It was as if my body had to compensate and put the heater on! ::)
