Hi all
I've posted a few months ago as I was in a total mess. Feeling very sick and dizzy constantly. I am 43 and, in agreement with my gp, started the combined oral contraceptive. I started on a low dose 20/150 which made my symptoms worse. After 3 weeks on it and a 2 wefk break, which left me at my worse, I started the 30/150.
I am now no longer so nauseous. My appetite has returned and dizziness is much lower. Yippee. However...... 3 weeks in and I started the second pack on mon as previously I would get extreme migraine on the break week {4 years ago} so I am trying continuous. Migraine had hit!!!!!
I don't understand why. That's 23 days consistently on the 30/150. Now on day 3 of a hormonal migraine that I can't get rid of. Never experienced that whilst actuly taking the pill before.
Any advice? Is this my body struggling to get used to the high estrogen dose??? I just seem to lurch from one problem to another. :P

What does it say n the leaflet with the medication?
Did U have headaches previously? Are you hydrated?

If you're still having a cycle then that could be why. When I was on the pill (back to back) I still had obvious mid cycle and end of cycle symptoms as the pill's oestrogen just wasn't strong enough to fully suppress my own cycle.
You may find that if you continue it's just a blip for a couple of days and then you'll feel better again.
(Btw, when I started writing the above it autocorrected to ‘if you're still having a chicken'). ;D

May I giggle :D

Thank you. I think i would be better having a chicken :o
I never imagined my own cycle would still be causing probs. Interestingly though, I swear I had a night sweatblast night and the odd flush today. Both things that I had before I started the combined pill..... Although not overly bothersome. So..... My estrogen could have dropped???? Despite taking the pill each day?
No history of migraines. Only when on this pill 4 years ago during the break week, hence me taking back to back.
I'm gutted. This is the first thing to take down my other symptoms, which have been horrific and, until now, nobody believed where hormonal. Bug this 3 day migraine has been bad!
I was thinking maybe it is too much estrogen and I needed the break week...... But you guys think my own system still causing probs???
Just a further thought...... I am still taking the pill at night in an attempt to minimise any early side affects....... Could the estrogen be dropping by daytime?? Or is that a really stupid question??!!! I could move to taking it in morning.
