I've been on HRT patches Evorel Sequi for 4 months and they have made my life much better. Only side effect is bloating up (from head to toe) during the final week. However I am happy to live with it for the benefits. My doctor advises that as I am only 49 and perimenopausal that I should have the Mirena coil fitted instead. I have agreed to this to happen next week, but now I'm getting anxious about it. I've never had a coil before. All I seem to find are horror stories. It doesn't appear much as a standard treatment for perimenopause when I read up on it.
Has anyone any experience of the Mirena Coil?

Yes i have one but i was a year post meno, no issues with it apart from initial daily spotting for 4.5 months, i have now had it in for 3.5 years and plan to get another one when needed.

Why is he suggeting it as you are fairly happy with what you are using?

Apparently it is the current recommendation for my age as it is safer in the long run?
