Hi my dr has changed my hrt today, from estrogel 4 pumps a day to femoston 1/5.
I'm worried that this won't be strong enough,he said he was giving me 2/10,but when I picked it up from the chemist it was 1/5. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this plz.

Why has it been changed?

I have a lot of other problems, but I just feel tired all the time,no energy and just generally unwell,he suggested that maybe I wasn't absorbing the gel very well,so I agreed to try it for 3 months, but he said 2/10 not 1/5.
I also don't know if I am post menopause or not.

Ah, i thought when i read your post the GP had changed it without you asking him too.

Hi Lisa - Even if you are not absorbing it very well going from 4 pumps gel down to 1 mg of oral oestrogen is a huge difference - you are going from (on average) a high dose to a low one! I would at least say you've not been given the one suggested. You could double up in the meantime (do mention this to doc - but you shouldn't have to pay for another prescription!) - but this will give you double the progestogen - or rather it would be like taking the combi part of the 2/10 but all the month!
