Title: Heart attacks in women
Post by: CLKD on September 30, 2019, 06:16:14 PM
.... apparently kill more women than breast disease in the UK.

Women are being mis-diagnosed.  Which may be fatal.

Yes I heard about this. I couldn't believe that a lot of people think heart attacks only happen to men! Also in women it's hard to diagnose as the signs can be different to men!

Yes but an ecg is an easy thing to ask for ,it's just an appointment with the nurse, maybe next time you're at dr just ask him if he can give you an appointment to see her/him,only takes a few minutes

Hello ladies

I know someone who was told that her hot flushes were protective of her heart and it was a good thing that she was having so many. I thought at the time that the doctor might not be such a fan if it was him having the flushes!  Having said that this was about five years ago and I expect Dr Newsom is quoting up to date research.

The bottom line is we can't pick and choose our menopause symptoms but we can do a lot to improve our heart health, which is a good thing.

Take care ladies.

K.

Men tend to feel it in their chest, down their arm.  Women tend to feel it in their back, between their shoulder blades.

UK doctors are being told to stop prescribing four types of a heartburn medication called Zantac or ranitidine as a "precautionary measure".

It follows concern in several countries that products may contain an impurity that has been linked to cancer.

The four being recalled are Zantac 150mg/10ml Syrup, Zantac 50mg/2ml Injection, Zantac 150mg Tablets and Zantac 300mg Tablets.

My mother was in hospital following hip replacement surgery. They didn't notice she was having a heart attack, she was only treated for it when my dad pointed it out.
