Hi all, I'm new to this forum and am looking for a bit of advice. I swapped recently from taking combined HRT via tablets and a pea sized amount of testosterone gel each day. I felt fine for years (I'm 60) but swapped to gel and low dose progesterone daily after consulting with my doctor who said it's a much better way forward.
I've been on two pumps of oestrogen a day (the doc said start with one but after a couple of days it was clear this wasn't enough) and the 100g tablet of progesterone each night (I've been told to take it continuously) for the past three weeks. Yesterday I noticed a had a very slight bleed and today's the same with mild period pains. Should I persevere do you think and see how I go? It's a big surprise as I haven't had a bleed for years and it's making me wonder if should have stuck to the tablets?
Thanks so much for reading and if anyone has any experience of this I'd be so grateful for any advice

Hi welcome to the forum.
Any change in hrt can cause breakthrough bleeding for up to 6 months.
I think you could have stayed on the tablets if they were suiting you.
You will need to give the gel a good few weeks to see if it works for you. X

Thanks Dotty, you're right, I will need to persevere for a little while longer and I guess I could always revert to the tablets if necessary!
