I've never had indigestion. Lsst Oct, 2 years into peri I was diagnosed with acid reflux.
Can you get acid reflux as a symptom of peri?
I'm 47, menopause runs early in family. Never had a missed or later period ever.

Hello Chihuahua chick !
Yes my symptoms started with awful acid reflux and a feeling of a lump in my throat .The doc gave me lansoprazole 30 mg which helped and I also take gaviscon advance liquid when really bad .
It's caused supposedly by a weaker valve at bottom of stomach which doesn't close properly .
Always best to get it checked out at your gps though .

Yep. Common for ladies of a certain age to get hiatus hernia >:( which allows reflux. As oestrogen levels drop off so muscles may become lax .....
I find 'rennies' useful and don't eat too close to bed time otherwise acids works back up :o. Eating little and often can ease symptoms.

Yep I had terrible acid reflux and as like, friend of Lhasa says, with a weird feeling that there was something stuck in my throat. Also given lansoprazole. It stopped once I got on the right hrt although I still get the reflux sometimes if I eat too late at night but that can happen anytime without it being due to meno. Stuck in throat thing gone completely though.x

Thanks for the advice, it's greatly appreciated.
I am convinced my reflux is due to perimenopause. I don't smoke or drink and I'm not overweight.
Thankfully it is easing off a year after it started. At least I am off the tablets now.

A bit fat yes from me.
That's how my perimenopause journey started.

AgathaC, do you mean that finding you had acid reflux flagged up the perimenopause?
