I've just been on holiday to Majorca and managed to buy HRT patches over the counter from a pharmacy , doesn't appear to be a shortage there

I live in Spain & I think the shortages are only in the UK. I think Brexit might have something to with all this & shortages

The blog I posted yesterday by Anne Henderson said it was nothing to do with Brexit as there is some problem with manufacturing so it will affect the other EU countries soon - according to her, even though at the moment supplies are sufficient. Presumably the products are still in the supply chain in other parts of the EU?
What I don't understand is why can't we intercept that supply chain if products are plentiful, and our distribution companies buy HRT from other distribution companies in other countries - but perhaps there are restrictions or something that means you can't buy once it has got to a particular country?
The other thing I don't understand is why there appears to have been a cessation in manufacture - or so it seems - I mean if it is being said some products are not available until 2020 - are the factories lying idle or something? I can understand that it might take a while to cope with increased demand but why aren't some supplies (albeit not enough) still appearing?
Maybe the gynae who spoke on the blog also has incomplete info (she said as much) although she did say that gynaes like her had lines of communication with pharmas that we mere mortals and GPs do not have (well something like that)....but who knows?

I think the drug companies must have known there was going to be a shortage & what I don't understand is if something is in short supply isn't the simple answer to just make more of it. It's not rocket science. I emailed Mylan the company who makes Zumenon 1 month ago & they said Zumenon 1mg would be back in beginning of September because it was in short supply. I still couldn't get it so I emailed them back & he couldn't answer my questions & referred me to the Menopause Society. I told him this was just passing the buck & he must know the real reasons why Zumenon was not in plentiful supply. I still think something funny is going on

Hello greenwg, which patches could you buy in Spain? I have used Fem7sequi patches. Do you know if Fem7 patches are still available in Spain?
