Hi Ladies, I've been using Vagifem for four years. I was put on it because of bladder problems and dryness and it seemed to do the trick. However every now and then my problems start up again and the Meno nurse will tell me to take it everyday for two weeks then back to twice a week and then recently every second night - which I've done. But recently my bladder has been really sore and I feel I need to keep going for a wee 😬.
The Doctor sent me for a scan to make sure my bladder was emptying and it was fine and I have no infection.
I have an appointment to see the Meno nurse next week but before I go I wanted to hear if anyone out there uses it every night?
I am 65 years young ... I'm not on HRT and exercise and eat healthily. I've been post menopausal for 6 years. 🙇🏼♀️

Hi Bluebell. I don't have the urgency but do find bladder gives me the finger every now and again.😤 My GP has put me on Vagifem every night until symptoms subside for 2 weeks and then I can cut back. Not much help but know bladder after meno is can be 😡nasty.

Yep. Some ladies insert two at the same time! It was designed and manufactured at 25 *** initially then some bright spark >:( decided that ladies can 'do' with 10 *** :beat: without discussion! So it can be used every night if necessary. Quality of Life Girls, QofL!!
Some find using 'ovestin' or yes/sylc products round the outer labia/vagina helpful too. When my symptoms aggravate I take a pain relief.

So right on CLKD...it's your body and only you know how you feel.

I think experimenting short-term is OK, i.e. 3/4 months. If altering dosage etc. isn't helping, then it's time to seek advice. It's a small amount over-all so should ease symptoms but it may take a bit of adjustment to suit.

I am 56 and have to use it every day and have done for 3 years when i try to cut back symptoms return really quickly, my meno specialist wrote to my GP and said it is quite safe to use every day and long term, i have no intention of giving it up.

Ho Tinkerbell...3 years and still using nightly? Crap...kinda hoping once symtoms improve could cut back. Cost of Vagifem is outrageous! Viagra really cheap. Hummmm....wonder why.

Using Evorel Conti patches has reduced my frequency of Vagifem. Now 3 times a week. Previously 6/7 times.

I'm on 5 a week Vagifem and Ovestin everynight and still get blips, has a bit of one this week, my own fault not drinking enough water and dehydrated, ok now.

I use ovestin internally alternate nights and Boots vaginal moisturizing gel the other. I have tried to use ovestin a bit less a few months ago but got bladder pressure. It's trial and error what suits you. My female gp has been wonderful and prescribed what I need. I hope she doesn't retire as from what I read on here, some gp's don't really understand VA. I have used it for 10 months now and no other hrt.

I have it every day but after a year it wasn't enough so now I'm in HRT as well.
