Title: Can I increase estrogen without increasing progesterone?
Post by: shrosphirelass on August 11, 2019, 11:02:38 AM
Having had a reoccurence of symptoms that I had pre HRT I wondered whether it is possible to add extra estrogen. I use evoril sequi and I thought that perhaps if I was able to add evorel 25 or something similar in addition to the sequi that it might make me feel better. I don't know whether I would need more progesterone too. Don't do as well on the progesterone cycle generally, but at the moment dont feel well all the time!

Hi shropshireless, I was on everol sequi & thought a 25 patch might be the solution, GP didn't know consulted local menopause specialist who said not recommended & I was changed to Everol 75mch patch & oral provera 5mg (daily). I suppose it depends on what symptoms you are still having though? I feel like there is still room for improvement but will wait for 3 months on it before I decide whether to ask for an increase of oestrogen.

Hi,
I am a ‘naughty experimenter'. I require the sequi regime and have tried oral, patches with utrogestan 🤯🤢- did not go well so went back to Femeston 2 not sick or nuts, but still sweating and lacked energy... BUT when I walked passed my cupboard I tripped and a 100mcg patch stuck to my butt......... prog stayed the same.  I felt great, all stopped, my GP was sort of happy I sh to prescribe- until- she asked meno clinic....... they went nuts and said I needed higher prog and try utrogestan- duh, been there and No, no , no. I told them I have good bleeds but no.
So I have a long supply of old patches and managed to buy some in Egypt........but the time will come when I will need to battle. For now I am taking about 5mgs of Oestrogen with 10 mgs of progesterone. I do so in the full knowledge that there might be consequences- but I feel so damn good.
I will , I think try and persuade my GP to go off license or private.
