Title: Vagifem and Smear Test

I am due a smear test, dreading having to stop Vagifem for 48 hours before as i need to use every day, is it still okay to use Ovestin on the outside bits or should i leave that off too?
My VA has been severe and even after one missed dose the discomfort comes back, i also use Oestrogel, 3 pumps a day, do you think it is worth upping to 4 pumps for a few days before smear test?

Hi Tinkerbell...I also have severe VA and taking Vagifem and Estragyn.  Not sure Vagifem works ...jury still out on that one.  Why do you have to stop Vagifem before smear test?  Taz might know the answer to your question.  Good luck..

Probably to get a clear smear without any other chemical on the slide?  However, the speculum wouldn't go in if I had to stop ......... I would have words ;-)

I would ring the Nurse to discuss prior to the appt. ;-)
