Title: The burning pain is keeping me awake!
Post by: Waitykaty on August 07, 2019, 04:39:05 AM
Here I am again. Back to square one. I have been awake since 4.00 am .

2 Vagifem daily are not helping. They used to be fantastic this time last year. I have had  Antibiotic for UTI. All clear. ultrasound of bladder etc clear.

I ended up at the GP as the pain was so severe and got given Oramorph.
GP took me off HRT after a week as my blood pressure was sky high. I think my BP was high as I was in agony and stressed.
I've now been prescribed Ovestin cream which was out of stock but should be in today.
It's 2019 there must be some way of managing this issue.

Thanks for your reply Birdy. It sounds promising.
I only took HRT for a week as my blood pressure was high. No-one had checked it before so they couldn't say if it was a result of the HRT or not.
I am going to ask for the HRT gel if I can as I hear it is good.
First I need to give the cream a try I think. I don't have many other symptoms so I'm relatively fortunate.

You need to up to daily treatment for VA, i have never managed, even in the early stages, with the twice a week dose.

Give the 'ovestin' a go.  Do the two weeks nightly loading and then alternate nights until you are comfortable.  Take a pain relief as well as it relieves the bladder feeling of needing to pee.

Get some LIVE yoghurt to apply in the vagina in the morning, it is soothing if a little messy.
