Title: Hot flushes

Just wondering if anyone is taking menopause, I have tried her but because my mum and grandmother both past due to breast cancer the worries out weighed the benefits, I have also tried faluxatine but that just made me drowsy lol.
Now I'm trying menopace and was wandering if it helps with flushes as I haven't gone 1 night in the last 10 months without waking 5 or 6 times flushing it starts about 10 pm and continues through the night.

Hi Lindylou.52,

Speaking from a purely subjective point of view, I don't believe supplements like Menopace work at all for hot flushes.  I should know.  I tried enough of them!  Why don't you consult your GP?  For example there is one treatment that I can think of that stops hot flushes that don't put you at risk of breast cancer and that won't make you drowsy.  It's called Dixarit (Clonidine).  It is mentioned on this site.  My sister takes that and finds it really works to stop her flushes.  Her doc prescribed it for her because she really didn't want to take hormones.  I really sympathise with you - the hot flushes really wore me out for the reasons you describe - it's difficult to get up each day and carry on with such disturbed sleep.  I really hope you find an answer and wish you the very best :)

Hi Lindy,flushes and sweats are awful,they will come and go naturally,I've tried all the herbal stuff for flushes but nothing worked,I would say,take a good all in one vitamin supplement, I take wellwoman 50+ you get from 40+ onwards,get yourself a good fan by the bed,or if affordable an air con unit.You do slowly get used to them,with me now,it's duvet on duvet off,practically in my sleep

Hi Lindy, I started Menopace Plus 2 weeks ago and my hot flushes have significantly lessened.  I'm definitely not sweating like the proverbial pig I was previously.  I still get hot/warm but less so and the corresponding freeze has lessened also.  The night sweats have well reduced, I'm not waking up on wet sheets!  I do still get too warm but not to the same degree, think we're all destined for wakefulness at this stage of life.  I bought a chill pad which I use in bed to cool down quickly and help get back to sleep. I took Clonodine a year ago, it did nothing to help.  I guess we're all different and what works for one won't necessarily work for another.
