Hi ladies, I'd appreciate some advice, I've been on 2 pumps estrogel daily/oral Utrogestan for 2 years. In January my Utrogestan dose was increased to the standard 200mg/10 days because I'd had a breakthrough period. All well for a bit but last two months I've again had a breakthrough period in the week before I'm due to start the Utrogestan course, and swollen tender boobs. The only other thing that's changed is I started taking a multivitamin for the iron. Some people on this forum have said Utrogestan's unpredictable. But I'm worried and confused and don't want to keep bothering my consultant😣Has anyone else experienced this? Why hasn't the increase in progesterone controlled the bleeding? Should I lower my estrogel dose? Are the multivits affecting my hormone levels? So many questions...😫

Hi wherearemyslippers
Utrogestan can be rather like you're describing. You don't say if you're peri or post meno, or whether your were on a conti or sequi regime?
I had lots of problematic bleeding on Utrogestan (fortnightly periods) so I now have a Mirena coil, with the patch alongside. I'm still spotting though, so 🙄🙄
Anyway, keep seeing your consultant - if you're otherwise happy with your hrt, you could have an ablation, or a coil which should help xx

Thanks ladies! I don't know if I'm post yet, I'm coming up for 53 and have been on body-identical hrt since 50, when I was definitely still peri - I take the Utrogestan just for 10 days in the month, 200mg a day ???

Hi,
I could be wrong but, you may be able to go on continous utrogestan, which may be stop the bleeds, but that depends on whether the utro suits you- eg side effects. That may be an option?
