Title: Sorry me again - is my Oestrogen patch too strong?
Post by: Jules53 on June 08, 2019, 01:38:39 PM
Hi

Sorry .me again. I am desperate for some advice please. I started Evorel 50 patches 2 weeks ago. I changed my patch today and it has sent my anxiety through the roof and I feel quite itchy!

I'm 55 and haven't had a period for nearly 3 years. Please can someone tell me whether the 50 could be too strong for me  and should I try 25 to start with. I stopped the Utrogestan for a few days as I thought it was that but I'm not so sure now😫..

I'm seeing the doctor on Monday but would appreciate any advice to get me through the weekend please.

Thanks.

Jules

Hi Jules

Were you on Femseven patches before this? X

Yes I was but had to stop it suddenly as I couldn't get anymore. Tried others but they didn't work so went back on a low dose antidepressant.

Am at my wits end now as I feel so awful and am supposed to be going back to work next week x

Were you ok on the Femseven patch? How long have you been without Oestrogen since stopping the Femseven? X

I stopped the Femseven towards the end of last year. It seemed to get rid of most of my symptoms.

I then tried Oestrogel for a few weeks with Utrogestan but it made me itch so I had to stop. So have been without Oestrogen for nearly 6 months X

It seems to me that your oestrogen levels will have dropped in the 6 months that you were off the patches and it will take time to build them up again. Are you feeling worse since starting the patches? X

Yes. Am definitely feeling worse. Do you think I should halve the patch and take the Utrogestan tonight? Thanks Dotty X

I really don't know what you should do.  If you halve the patch and take the utrogestan then you are switching and changing and confusing your body even more.  I think it would be a good idea to just stick to the oestrogen for a few weeks and see what happens.  What does your doctor say? x

Thanks Dotty. I'm not seeing her until Monday.  I stopped using the Utrogestan without consulting the doctor as I thought it was that causing the problem.

I have been feeling more uptight since stopping the Utrogestan so I think I'll stick with the 50 patch and try the Utrogestan again tonight. I've caused a right mess! My own fault😫.

Thanks for your replies xx

Hi Dotty

Feeling very nauseous, shaky and tired. I used the Utrogestan last night and have kept the patch on.

Not feeling as anxious though xx

The patches that you are using now....are they just oestrogen or are they Evorel Conti which contain oestrogen and progesterone? X
