Hi all. Anybody experienced.coccyx bone /tailbone tenderness and been told its low estrogen related? X
-
I've had this recently and I'm on HRT. I see a private physio who has linked mine to pelvic floor weakness. Does your pain increase if you do your pelvic floor pull ups?

Hello Taz !! Thank you for taking the time. Its not pain pain as such. Started.10.months ago....was bad for about 8 months.espec.in bed and when sitting and getting up. I conected it to hormones - peri.meno.....as had tjer symptoms.too ehich had for years i think! Bit this worried me. ....doc said hornonal but holistic.alihnment giy said coccyx was.rotated to the side (i suspected hormones made it softer then it twisted) anywhow..got a lil.better not as bad....i foind a very interestig article...onely 1 i came.across...links betwren low estrodiol. I stsrted hrt 6 daus ago.x

Some of the pelvic floor muscles are attached to the coccyx so this would make sense if the pelvic floor has dropped due to estrogen deficiency. Have you been given any treatment for this, local estrogen would help also physio.

Hi deidre.....i alwaus thought my pelvic floor was.good...but for a good few months now been suffering like weak bladder!! Im.convinced all low estrogen related. Ive been feeling rather flat a while...low moods ..no motivation.. hair thinning and dull and the oneni hate - xorners under my eyes dark .....just not feeling myself..and i take care of myself.too..food n exercise etc.
Im.6 days into hrt - swore id never take this route as im very much into holistic health- but feel ive.'suffered' too long..whrn perhaos i dont need to. I started on estrogel.....and utrogesten on alternate days...bu advise of.meno.doc.
Today ive had a bleed and feel.pretry rubbish. X

I've only used patches in the past but it does take a while before you start noticing any benefits and you should give it a good 3 months before deciding if it's the regime for you, if not try another. You can also ask for Vagifem and Ovestin to target your pelvic floor, bladder and any dryness and also ask to be referred to a physio therapist to show you how to do the correct exercises to strengthen your pelvic muscles, the HRT will help too. Taking the HRT route is not a bad thing, if you were anaemic you"d take iron or insulin if diabetic, this is a deficiency also and you can use your holistic therapies and diet and exercise to help aswell. Vitamin D helps me when I feeling low too. Hope you feel better soon and keep posting, theres always someone will come along with advice and tips and also use the search tab to read similar posts of ladies using the same HRT.

Thanks so nuch diedre! Illl.do this....gove it a chance! Im.just in limbo as i an peri.meno and still have periods altho my last one was 6 werks ago before this bleed. My meno doc said to take the utrogesten vaginally (my choice) and to tske on alternate days....i asked about a break but she said no.no break but dont worry.....! I was ok with that but yestetday had a bkeed....heavy and felt low and today heavy same......then upon researching saw many posts that alternaye days is a continuous.regine as opposed to cyclical...ie dys 1 - 25 etc...and it is cyclical that is usually recomended for those in peri.meno...like me. So im.thrown now why im.taking conti..! The doc who gave advise and said to do this regime is one pf the best...but imnwodnerig if she maybe didnt realise im.still peri meno....x

I would give it a few weeks to settle, your own cycle has probably kicked in as well, also you can get bleeds in the first 6 months of continuous HRT. If your still unsure then perhaps email your specialist, did they asked about your last period and your age would be a factor, everyone is different with different needs and if this doesn't suit then ask to go on the cyclical regime but give it a chance first, its early days.

Yes ill.do that. I quote lie the thought of 'balanced' utro regime....ie..alternate days and if you like an ongoing low supply of prog rsther than for a number of days then withdrawal....if that makes sense? Ill just stick.with it and stsy positive and let my body work! Takes time as you said. Just now need to know if i can still take utro vag whilst bleeding ?! And the effects of taking utro and sex 🙈! Noones answeing posts so far. But you have been so so helpful and supportive diedre x

As oestrogen levels drop off muscles may become lax = aches and pains so the bony spur at the bottom could well be affected.

#pelvicfloorface, see Rockmymenopause to post pics, it's hilarious!! ;D. Tiger balm massaged to area will ease the pain, if you can stand the smell (I quite like the smell, OH doesn't).

Thanks all.for replying !
CLKD - yes!!...i do think and hope..low estreogen levels are the culprit. This will then relax my mind over my decision to take hrt!! Youre the only person who has sort of made the link/connection also....ive not come.across much discussion about it at all.
Foxylady - ill have a look at the sight you mentioned !!! X

In the meantime, sit on something soft ;-)

Hi again all.
I posted this morning ..new topic "update and thoughts pls"....but just thougt id add to this too.....the last few days my left boob had veen so tender and also noticed ny bladdrr weak....could this signal low estrogen? Would it be worth upping my dose from.2 pumps to 2 and a half? Pls also see my other post of this morn. Would love some advice as fed up! Felt so flat the last 4 days....mood and general agitation.....and although now not bleeding have had a show of brown bloody discharge (was bleeding last week...3rd bleed since started hrt) and feel so leaky down below!!! Was on the treadmill holding onto mu left boob as tender and aldo trying not too pee! What the hell hahaha.
Im.wondering if i need more.esrtrogel?

Interesting. I have been feeling tender in the coccyx since May. Put it down to gardening and lifting but along with other symptoms did not seem to fit the profile of an injury. Thought my pelvic floor was good to, keeping up the kegels! Until a few weeks ago never even thought he menopause could be responsible!

Hi donna. Yes! It most certainly can. I found an amazing rare article about low or lack.of.estrodiol and cocxyx pain/tenderness. Ill see if can find and send link. Im.just over 3 months now hrt...at moment its still tender BUT....i think eased.a lot!!!! x
