This particular 'member' who was removed 'slammed' me.
She offered to share experiences so I suggest that she do so ........ then she told us that she didn't like the lack of 'greeting' she had been given. She was posting in a similar way of someone a while ago who turned out not to be 'real' ;).
Also, why would a person aged 70 be looking to 'share experiences' : without doing so when I suggested it would be a good idea :-\ and no I didn't take it up with Emma. But I wasn't comfortable by an apparently new member launching in to our particularly volatile thread without a proper introduction elsewhere.
If someone leaves then rejoins on the same computer it can be seen in the background :-\. Apparently.
-
If worried then ask Emma via PM?
-
Well said clkd, very strange to me also & I was less than impressed some members thought it would be funny to laugh at her comments re myself and Sheila, who had our doubts about her right from the get go,as did you, what “new†member comes on and starts in at the deep end.Instead of all her WISDOM she wanted to impart, when asked by you,to enlighten us all she chose to ignore it but go right back on to Euro thread & have her say there instead.
Also, can you explain why some members(er 2) are soooooo upset she has been kicked off after she only posted about 4 times??Also a tad strange
Then they question Emma's decision? What they don't know is the moderators can see more than we can I.E ip addresses etc.
Someone doesn't just get kicked off because of their conflicting views on the Europe thread,if that was the case we'd all be off 😆 Moderators don't just kick people off lightly either, there has to be more to it than they THINK they know.
-
Shakespeare hit the nail on the head.
'The lady dost protest too much, methinks'. Now can anyone think of any reason why they would question Emma's decision??? Me? I am faaar too stupid to work it out! ;D ;D
-
I think I must have missed it - hope you're OK CLKD. :foryou:
-
So far today, fine :thankyou:
Except I've done too much in the garden as well as polishing the front door and turning out the porch and ........ 8)

Yep, members come and go All the time!
Some stay longer than others.
Some, just for advice, then go, never to return.
But those that stay, should consider everyone's feelings, after all, it IS a meno forum
and most people on here are fragile and need help in one way or another...
Kindness, and thoughtfulness goes a hell of a long way!
This is what we're here for, RIGHT, not bitching at each other, but trying to help, and cheer people up,
especially at this time of life when we need it!! Xxx

The Europe thread has been pulled.
-
Wise words Jill xx

Hello ladies.
I only saw two posts from the member in question, the first was on the Europe thread and the second was in New Members.
In some ways I hope she was a menopause imposter whose mission was to rattle the cages of all of us posting on the In or Out of Europe thread. If she was genuine however and just made a mistake by touching on sensitive issues straight away, then I'm sorry that she's gone so soon.
This forum is too important to be dominated by any individual or group and Emma does a good job in maintaining a civilised balance of opinions. We are fortunate to have her as a our moderator.
Wishing you all well ladies.
K.

Shame we had to lose a really interesting thread because a few people chose to mis-use it.
Agreed this is a forum about menopause, however it sometimes does one good to get one's mind off matters menopausal and the This and That section provides a good distraction.
I can't get enthused about telling you what I've had for breakfast, lunch and dinner though!
I also think it is a pity that we have lost it. Personally I had no objection to a new member joining the discussion. She only stated facts and avoided personal opinion. She also wrote an entry on the New Members section which I wanted to follow.
-
She wasn't a new member though, hence her getting kicked off,the moderator isn't stupid
-
I asked for my Brexit thread to be closed. When I read it all: last night ::) : it was obvious, like the issue all over the media, that we were going over old ground: but like the issue in hand, not achieving anything ;D
When it is all over - should that be 'if' it ever is sorted - we can start again ;-)
-
That was big of you clkd,as I know you didn't really want it to be shut down but I think it was only right,I'd decided not to post on there anymore anyway. As like you said and I did too on one of my last posts on there,we were all going round and round in circles xx

I have to say I agree with Stellajane, sometimes it's refreshing to get away from the minutiae of everyday life. But we should be able to able to argue a point without attacking the person.
So any volunteers to start the next topic for debate? Though perhaps we should keep off politics for now.
-

I've been here years++ and seen it all ::)

Funny you should mention that one, we seem to have one or two about that already... :)

<wave> Shadyglade
So if Gardening Shows, i.e. Chelsea, were to buy purely UK grown plants ......... and not import from Italy etc. ???
-
You should see it here clkd, the rhododendrons are amazing, the colours are just stunning, all along the road and up into the hills, just beautiful
-
Those came into the UK centuries ago and some are causing problems ........ when I was 8 we went to Kelling Gardens and Aviaries and the azaleas were stunning ......... the smell, colours :)
-
The world turns beautiful at this time of year😊
-
I love rhods and appreciate the expertise and bravery that went into collections years ago .......... many of our day-2-day plants are foreign, I think that lavender and rosemary came over with the Romans? as did many other herbs. Roses from ? China ?

Oh I've just noticed that Stellajane has left! Hope it wasn't due to anything untoward? I know she takes a break from time to time but doesn't usually actually leave!
Bye bye Stellajane - your words of wisdom re HRT and menopause always appreciated! Also one of the few on here in their 60's taking HRT on a cycle! Take care and do come back if/when you can bear to :) !!
