Hi,
My hormone specialist has suggested taking spironolactone to help the cyclical acne I get. Just wondered if anyone else had used this and what to expect? Am two years post and hoped this would have settled by now but no such luck. Still having cycles of symptoms. Any info would be much appreciated.

A bit of a late reply, but how did you get on with spiro?

Bumblebear - Rustysmum is no longer a member of the forum so will not reply. If a name appears in black with "guest" beside it, that means they aren't members anymore....However maybe someone else will have experience of this if they spot the title...?

Bumblebeer7 - I haven't used Spiro but I did use Angelique for a year or so which contains drospirenone, a relative of Spiro. I actually did really well on this, it was great for mood and certainly made you pee a lot! I didn't have problems with acne but I eventually stopped using it as the good mood eventually became a bad mood and it caused VA, which I hadn't had before using it and still don't on 0 oestrogen. It was possibly a prog thing or a testo reducing thing but it's something to be mindful of.

Thanks for your reply. Not sure what you meant by a prog or testo reducing thing? Also how soon after taking Angelique did you notice VA? Since you stopped Angelique, how did you get on? Did you use Angelique for hair loss or acne?
