Title: Combined hrt effects
Post by: Bluff on May 17, 2019, 10:30:21 PM
Hi. New to the site and forum. Been on hrt for 5 weeks now
Femoston 1/5. Am 55 but menopause started about 12/3 years ago. Went on primarily as I wasn't getting any sleep before
Now, I sleep like a log but my IBS has flared up terribly and in the last week I have been really angry and tearful.
Plan to go back to doc but equally thinking that lack of sleep is the lesser of two evils and I should stop taking the pills.
Just wondering what experience others have had
Thank you

Hi!  5 weeks probably ain't long enough for the body to adjust. The body doesn't usually get where it is in a hurry so it stands to reason that any uptake may be slow.  Maybe put the product name into the search box and see what pops up?

IBS can become problematic as hormones rise and fall, I had sudden need to rush to the loo 10 mins. prior to a bleed, even if a period wasn't due.  There was no argument about it, I needed the loo right now!  HORMONES  >:(  ::).

Mood swings are common too.  Maybe keep a diary to chart your feelings, food/symptoms?

Thank you. Agree about the time but feeling so rubbish that I am not sure it is sustainable!
Will persevere - thanks again

It could be that you need more oestrogen. X
